On Friday, November 8, students at South Slope/BCSD will be involved in our Remembrance Day Assembly. The assembly begins at 10:30 am and everyone is invited to attend.
The students will be remembering the many brave men and women who have given their lives for the service of our country, Canada. The message that we will be bringing is one of peace, and hope for a better world.
As a tribute to the solemnity of the occasion, we are asking that students come to school that day wearing their white tops with dark bottoms. Poppies will be given to the students immediately before the assembly. Students have been collecting donations for the poppy fund throughout the week.
Parents, grandparents and the community are very welcome to attend this special event. Please be seated before 10:25 am to allow the students to enter the gymnasium to begin the program. Also, remember to turn off your cell phones.
There is no applause for this solemn occasion.
