Incident Impacting Operations

Dear Families,

The Burnaby School District is actively investigating a cyber incident that came to our attention yesterday. This incident has impacted some of our systems and operations, including internal network services and phone lines.

District staff, in collaboration with third-party experts, are working diligently to contain the incident and restore normal operations as soon as possible.

With the impacted services, families are still not able to call phone lines across the Burnaby School District. WiFi is also down, which means students do not have access to WiFi at school. Print services are also impacted. Students can still access their school email accounts, drives, and Microsoft Teams, but not through District Wi-Fi services.

We recognize the inconvenience this disruption is causing and appreciate your patience while we work to restore services as quickly and securely as possible.

In the meantime, please continue to report student absences by using the general school email address found in the contact information at the bottom of your school’s website.

We remain committed to providing further updates as our efforts progress.

With best regards,

Karim Hachlaf,

Superintendent

Burnaby School District
